Design + Build Process

Your Goals Become Our Goals

Our Architect Led | Client Driven approach to Design and Construction Management allows us to respond effectively and completely to your specific project vision, and eliminates many of the inherent communication problems of the traditional design-bid-build model.

We might produce a thousand ideas before arriving at the perfect one for a project or client. It's a necessary part of the creative architectural process and one that we take seriously. Here's how we do it:

  • Schematic Design & Initial Feasibility Meeting: We respond directly and immediately to your ideas and feedback while tailoring a design scheme that meets your requirements and fits within your financial plan.
  • Consolidated Drawing & Bidding Phase: Our approach streamlines the process by running these two phases together. As we develop the design, we're also developing the master project budget to keep everything in line. You save time and money by eliminating the need to complete a full set of drawings to send out for bid to find out if we're even in the ballpark.
  • Construction Management: We work closely with the entire project team throughout the construction phase, helping you make finish selections, coordinating all the moving parts, and keeping an eye on the project budget. Our approach gives you complete control and transparency - in essence, you become the General Contractor, making the important decisions that are right for you, and we are there every step of the way to advise you and run the day-to-day work.
  • Construction Administration: If you choose to hire a General Contractor to build your project, we'll help you select the best one for you. We'll continue to be involved throughout construction to answer questions, finalize selections and specifications and look out for your best interests.

Rebecca Gernetzke

Rebecca began her career in architecture, but quickly realized that the process of executing the project was where she thrived. Project management throughout the construction process has been her primary focus. She enjoys working closely with our clients on interior design and finish selections, where the true feel of the project is realized. Rebecca has managed projects on a variety of scales from small residential renovations to mid-scale new commercial construction.

Brian Gernetzke, AIA

Brian Gernetzke has always been fascinated by cities. While in high school, he knew he wanted to be an architect and spent a lot of time reading about skyscrapers, airports, and city planning. It was during his time working as a co-op student while at the University of Cincinnati that Brian realized he was drawn to residential and light commercial architecture. The personal relationships, shorter timelines, and ability to see a project through all phases - from design through construction - make this niche extremely rewarding to him. Brian is also a minority owner of the NFL's Green Bay Packers and lives in Cincinnati with his wife Rebecca, and their children- Noah, Owen and Elise.
